On October 19th 2006 I met Tetsuroh and his lovely wife Mayumi in Keller 113, Frankfurt Sandweg. Tetsuroh performed together with "Die Band", an ensemble of drummers and percussion players with the great Uschi on tenorsax. Tetsuroh was the star of the evening. His beautiful trumpet sound in concert with the tenorsax was a great experience. He did not only use his trumpet as a trumpet, but also as a trombone and a percussion instrument. He even played with just the embouchure, creating groaning sounds. "Die Band" with Jazz drum kit, darbuka, framedrums, woodblocks, congas and many more kinds of rhythm tools gave a great basis for the question and answer improvisations by Uschi and Tetsuroh.
